The Werewolf in the Living Room is the seventeenth book in the Goosebumps Series 2000 book series. It was published in 1999.

Plot

Aaron Freidus and his father are hunters, who capture an innocent man named Ben who may be a werewolf that has terrorized the town. But when Aaron begins having dreams of bloodshed and death, he discovers that he could be the culprit.

However, Aaron's best friend Ashley tells him that Ben could not be the werewolf. Aaron releases him, only to find the whole city terrorized by a werewolf.

Aaron thinks Ben is the culprit and curses him himself. Later he wakes up with a bloodstained body and realizes that he is the werewolf and was turned so, once after he was bitten by a wolf. Once his father finds out, he wants to send him to prison forever. But to save himself, Aaron bites his father, turning him into a werewolf.

Differences

  • In France, this book is the 60th of the original Goosebumps series. The title was  translated "Un loup-garou dans la maison !", which means in English "A werewolf in the house!", and the tagline was changed into "Morsure fatale" (A deadly bite).
