Character Description
Dustin Minium

The protagonist and narrator. He doesn't want to go to sleepaway camp, but his parents force him to. When he arrives at Camp Full Moon, he starts noticing that the other campers are acting very strange around him.
Mr. Minium and Mrs. Minium

Dustin's parents force Dustin to go to camp. Dustin's mother wants him to move outside of his comfort zone.
Logan Minium

Dustin's eight-year-old brother, Logan. He is also going to Camp Full Moon, but he won't arrive there at the same time as Dustin; Logan will be arriving later.
Bus driver

While Dustin has nightmares about a monstrous bus driver, his actual bus driver to camp is a nice, young man.
Ari Davis

An athletic gymnast. On the bus ride to camp, he befriends Dustin Minium. Ari loves practical jokes; he suggests that he and Dustin trade names at camp as a prank.
Uncle Lou

The Camp Full Moon director. He is a heavy-set man, and he is nearly bald.
Counselors

Includes Nate

Several counselors work for Camp Full Moon. The only one to be named is Nate, a thin man with a buzz-cut.
Noah Ward

A boy with freckles, red hair, and hazel eyes. Noah saves Dustin from being attacked by foxes in the woods. Near the end of the book, Noah reveals that he is a ghost and a prior victim of The Snatcher.
Ben and Jason

These are two of Dustin's roommates in the Cherokee Cabin.
Melvin

Melvin is one of Ari's nerdy roommates.
Johnny Grant

According to Uncle Lou's story, Johnny Grant is a boy who was abducted by The Snatcher while staying at a sleepaway camp.
The Snatcher

TA creature that takes the form of a ravenous fox, supposedly kidnaps one camper every year. Near the end of the book, it is revealed that Laura Carter, a girl that Dustin met in the woods, was actually The Snatcher in disguise.
Todd and Billy

Todd and Billy are two briefly mentioned campers. Dustin observes the two boys shooting arrows at each other. It is revealed near the end of the book that these boys were able to do this because they were ghosts.
